Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I find policies related to COVID-19 for the 2022 camp series?
Click here for COVID-19 policies and self-reporting form.

Q: Will I receive a confirmation email?
Yes, you should receive a confirmation email after you are finished registering. Please contact us if you do not.

Q: Where is camp located?
Please see our Facility/Directions page.

Q: What is the easiest airport to fly into?
UGA is located 75 miles east of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

Q: Where can I purchase UGA Volleyball merchandise?
We are transitioning all camp store sales from in-person to online. More information will be available in the near future.

Q: Do I need to upload a current physical for my camper?
YES! The University of Georgia requires every camper to have a physical on file in order for them to be able to participate in camp. The physical must have been completed within 1 year of the start date of camp and it must have a physician’s signature. If we do not have a valid copy of your camper’s physical, he/she will not be able to check in for camp. We also require parents/guardians to upload a copy of their insurance card in case an emergency hospital visit is necessary.

Q: What form do I upload and where can I upload it?
If you have a physical that is signed by a physician and dated within 1 year of the start date of camp, you can upload the form from the doctor’s office. Alternatively, you can download this form and have your physician sign & date it. Once you have a completed physical form, you can upload it to your Camp Network account (created when you signed up) by logging in here and then clicking Action---Upload Documents. We ask that you upload or send your completed physical or form at least one week prior to the start of camp.

Q: Where do I go to check in?
For commuters/non-residential camps: If entering through the main front doors of the Ramsey Student Center, you will want to walk through the turnstiles at the front desk and take an immediate left down the long hallway with the main weight room on your left. The UGA volleyball offices and volleyball arena are located at the end of this hallway. Don’t hesitate to ask Ramsey Center staff or volleyball camp staff if you get lost!

Q: What UGA dormitory will be utilized for the overnight camps? Will linens be provided?
We will be utilizing Building 1516 for our resident campers this summer. All rooms are 2-bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Linens will NOT be provided, so please make sure all resident campers bring a pillow, sheets, blanket, etc. Beds are extra long twin size.
Building 1516 Address:
395 River Road
Athens, GA 30609

24-hour front desk: 706-583-0277

Q: Can I request a roommate for the overnight camps?
Yes! During the online registration process for overnight camps, you will be asked for your roommate request. If you and a friend both request each other, you will have a better chance of being paired up. If you do not request a roommate, we will match you with another camper similar in age.

Q: Can parents watch camp sessions?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will have limited spectator viewing areas inside the facility. Parents and guests may view from these areas but may not come into close contact with campers. Camp staff members will escort campers outside the building upon completion of the camp/clinic for individuals who are being picked up.

Q: Can I park on campus?
Visitor parking information can be found here. East Campus Deck is the closest parking garage to the Ramsey Center.

Q: What happens if my child gets hurt? Do you have a trainer in the gym?
There will be an athletic trainer on site that will handle any and all medical needs for the campers. Please be sure to be as detailed as possible when filling out your camper’s medical information during registration so that we may be prepared to manage his/her needs.

Q: What should my camper do if he/she exhibits symptoms of a concussion while at camp?
Please review this PDF on concussion safety prior to attending camp. See our athletic trainer immediately if possible symptoms occur.

Q: Who is watching the campers in the dorms? Will someone walk them over?
Campers are supervised at all times by camp staff members, including walking to and from the gym. Camp staff members will also be on-site at the dorms for the duration of the campers’ stay.

Q: What happens if an overnight camper loses their dorm key and/or access card?
There is a $45 fee for a lost key and a $10 fee for a lost access card.

Q: My child is below the grade range for a camp – can I still sign him/her up?
No, all camps have specific grade/age qualifications. The registration software will not allow you to register someone who does not fall within that range. Any camp with a specific cutoff must be adhered to based on the camper's age and grade. Please contact the Camp Director with additional questions regarding this policy.

Q: What is a commuter?
Commuters participate in overnight camps, but do not receive lodging or breakfast. This means they will need to be dropped off prior to the start of camp each day and picked up after the end of camp each day.

Q: Do I need to purchase the additional $2.99 fee to receive SMS text messages through the registration site?
No, this is optional. Please provide your phone number and the camper's phone number on the registration questions and we will contact you that way if necessary for no additional fee.

Q: Can I purchase UGA Volleyball gear? TBD for 2022 camp series
The camp store will be entirely online in 2021. In order to purchase a dri-fit shirt or crew sweatshirt, log in to your camp account and select an "add on" for your registration.
